Chicago Trip Memories

Family picture at cousin Anna's wedding at the end of July in Illinois
Looking up at the Chicago skyscrapers.  This is when we were relaxed walking before we realized that we only had 15 minutes to walk over a mile with 30 family members to the cruise ship on the Navy Pier.  You should've seen the "Showalter clan" running to the cruise ship with strollers, whining kids, parents urging on young ones, and not-so-funny...my trooper mom running and barely making it with tears streaming down her cheeks and being propped up by my brother, Luke.  My brother-in-law, John Love, kept running back and forth and eventually hijacked the stroller with Evie in it and ran with it to the cruise.  Eventually we all made it, sweaty and breathing heavily.  It was nice of the cruise crew to wait the ship on us.  Looking back on it we can laugh.
Can you guess who set up this innocent little baby?  I'm not sure if she actually ate any chocolate, she was mostly just wearing it on her face...thanks Dad (her dad)!
Prairie grass boy.
Auntie Jessica and Evie
Evie having her "quiet time" with cousin Tyler.
Jessica has always loved babies' cheeks and their squishy, sofy necks.

These are all fun pictures to take us down memory lane! I think the Chicago run had its consequences - landing me in the hospital for a procedure this Friday - still worth it all and well worth the laugh. You provided such good words to describe the scenario of racing to the boat.
