For Comparison's Sake - Gloria

11 months

9 months

Here is Gloria as a baby.

Gloria definitely got short-changed when it comes to pictures of her as a baby. I've been having fun looking at old pictures of the kids when they were Benaiah's age. We have SO MANY more pictures of JB than we do of Gloria. Even when Gloria was a baby, all of the single-person photos are of JB....I guess he was doing more interesting things, being two years. The only way I could get a single shot of Gloria was by cropping everyone else out. Poor Gloria...a pwincess stuck between two highly cute brothers. She's getting to be beautiful young girl with loads of personality. She has a beautiful smile and big dimples on her cheeks.

Gloria and JB are about the same height and very close in weight even though JB is 20 months older. Somehow my children just keep getting bigger and bigger...give it another year and people will be asking if I have triplets! We thought Gloria was big...Benaiah is 10 months now and only fits into 24 month clothing!!! I don't think it has to do with how much they are eating because Benaiah has nursed the most and gotten the least solid food at this age out of the three of them.

Brothers

This is JB's attempt to keep Benaiah, who is all over the place now, in his lap.

Benaiah has made it his goal in life to go head first down the carpeted stairs leading to the basement. We have a gate up now every time he is crawling around. I recently found him 2-3 steps up the wooden stairs going to the second floor. The problem...the only way he knows to get down at this point is by falling. I think I will have to gate off the hallway area with the wooden stairs until he has more practice going up (and down, without falling) on the carpeted stairs...although still shocking and painful, a much softer landing than wood.

We didn't do the gate thing with JB and Gloria because they discovered the falling down the stairs thing accidentally on their own. After that, they stayed away from the stairs. However, in Virginia we did not have wooden stairs. Thankfully, the carpeted stairs they tumbled down in VA were not full staircases, but turned around corners so they were broken up, like our current house. Full, wooden staircases are the scariest, especially when their at the top with an adventurous look on their face.
Here is JB in his "stair phase", but here he was already a year old and an "expert" at stair climbing and descending.

Good company

Benaiah is interested in his friend's hair. She seems to be taking it very well....
Lined up on a winter's day to read a book. I just had to take a picture of this line-up with our friends who come to play almost weekly.

The hard way

Benaiah is trying to escape the hard way...there's a door going to the outside just beyond him. He did manage to drop my watch out the window.
