Baby in a Pod

One of these days I'll be able to reach that whipped cream.
No, it's not a potty seat, it's a Baby Pod.
Oooh, this is fun, I get to sit up all on my own!
Whoa! All on my own, what was I thinking!...I'm only two months old!

JB on Grace the pony

The Creek

Gloria wading.

JB tubed down the stream a long way. Max and Granddude ran along beside him on the grass as he went over the rapids. JB loved it, needless to say. Gloria and I walked through the creek behind them a long way too but could not keep up with the rafting and the running. This is the springtime snow run-off from the mountains plus the rain of spring which makes the creek swell into a stream or river. Sometimes I wish I were a kid again. Seeing my own kids do it and enjoy it is fun too though:).

Benaiah Hangin'

"I'm not sure if I agree with that Gramma Shell. I think I should be able to use the chain saw and ride the three-wheeler with Daddy like the other kids."
Looking peaceful.
JB and Gloria had many rides in the pick up with Grandude to haul brush out of the wood lot up to a turn-around at the top of our lot, where it will be taken away or chipped eventually. JB's sporting his Daddy's hat.
Gloria having a snack at the wood lot. JB and Gloria wore knee-high socks so that they didn't get too scratched up on their little legs.

Max relaxing with his daughter after some hard work.
Gloria drinking Root Beer (a special treat) in the camping hammock. The Root Beer companies can call us for advertising appointments (I think this one was IBC).
This is a picture of me holding a sleeping Benaiah in the Baby Bjorn under a tarp shelter that Max set up for me during a brief rain shower.

These are all pictures up at the woodlot in Colorado. We went up there I think three different days. Max worked on chopping up fallen trees and clearing out brush and I looked after the baby and the kids. Gramma shell was always up there with us and she sometimes helped with the manual labor of cleaning up the lot and other times played grandmother and helped take care of the kids. We also had picnics at the woodlot and just enjoyed the quietness (besides the chainsaw) and the beautiful scenery and weather. Every time we went there we had a great time at the woodlot. Thanks to God for such a beautiful piece of land to which we can retreat (like we really need to retreat from the Bremer ranch:)).

Walking/jogging

This was before we left on vacation when I decided to be ambitious and go for a run/walk with all three kids. JB was on his bike and did very well stopping at all of the streets and waiting for me to catch up. It was my first jog since I was about 4 months pregers with Benaiah. Gloria only whined once in the whole 2 miles about having to stay in the stroller with Benaiah. I think for the most part she enjoyed being in there with him.

Fun Fish

Can you see the fish with the rocky background? JB caught this little sunfish with his very own fishing pole. I think for her 3rd birthday Gloria will get her very own fishing pole. She kept asking where hers was and I kept having to tell her that she didn't have one. JB is very good at casting, he just has to work on watching the bobber and reeling in at the right time.

Big Benaiah!

Smiling
Serious
Benaiah had his 2 month appointment yesterday and he weighed a whopping 16 lbs 12 oz. He was 100th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height. However, he's a bit of a pin head because his head circumference was only in the 50th percentile for his age. Despite his small head, he is very alert for his age too. He's already reaching for things and smiles and talks to me after or during nursing. This is very cute, but can get a little frustrating if nursing is taking a long time because of his desire to socialize... mostly cute though:).

I took out JB and Gloria's baby books yesterday to compare weights at two months. JB weighed 13 lbs, Gloria weighed 15 lbs, and Benaiah is almost 17 lbs! We thought Gloria was big.

Gloria Bathing Benaiah

Gloria wanted to help me bathe Benaiah this morning. He needed some cleaning in his creases, of which he's getting more and more. I told her she could bathe his body and I would do his face and head. She must've forgotten I said that because as soon as I squeezed water from the washcloth carefully onto his head she squeezed some with her washcloth into his face. He didn't seem to be too bothered, just a little startled.

Benaiah Sleeping

You can see that he is a chubbub in these pictures. The last one with his arms down is after I started the swing again and startled him. He didn't wake up though.
