The explanation

Here is Max explaining what the kids find in each of the resurrection eggs. If you are wondering what these are, instead of having candy in them, they have things much more meaningful. One might have a cross, another a nail, another a thorn, another a rock, another cloth to represent the clothes of Jesus that the soldiers divided among themselves, another a sponge, which had the vinegar on it which they gave to Jesus when he was thirsty on the cross, another spices, and another perfume. All of the items in the 12 eggs had something to do with the resurrection story. Otherwise the kids think it is all about the Easter bunny and Easter eggs with candy. We had fun and I think the kids did too.

I found one!

Yesterday (Easter) we hid "resurrection eggs" for the kids to find. This is Gloria finding one in the plant.

A spring time view

The pear and the cherry tree in the back are blooming and the grass is green from all of the rain we have been getting. As you can see in the back, left side of the picture, we have not gotten anywhere on our garden yet except that Max mixed leaves and fertilizer into the soil, then covered it with black plastic to help decompose the leaves. Hopefully our garden will be going before too long.

Gloria enjoying the view

Yesterday Gloria was sitting with her babies showing them the view out the window. She said they were watching the birdies. It was cute.

Gloria in the new glider

This is the new glider that will soon be in baby Benaiah's room, although I kinda like having it in the living room. I told my mom a while ago that I would take a picture of it because my parents and my Gramma Henry helped to pay for it. Thank you mom, dad, and gramma! Gloria seems to like it too.

JB's fish

JB had a successful fishing day last week and I neglected to post the pictures to the blog. He got very good at casting out and reeling in. He didn't always pay attention to his bobber when a fish was tugging, but the few times that he did, he got a fishy treat. When he threw one back he said the fish would say "Thank you, JB, for making me fly."

Gloria watering

I guess this is the week of Gloria footage. She helped me water the new trees we planted last week. This was before the big rain that just happened over the last 24 hours. She didn't always succeed in watering the trees and managed to make a puddle in the grass, but hey, the grass needed it too.

Gloria and her Daffodil

Gloria picked one of the daffodils in front of our house. Spring is definitely here. The pear trees and our peach tree is blooming and new leaves can be seen on some trees. It rained, actually thunder-stormed all last night and until about 4 pm today. The grass looks green all of a sudden. We are planning on doing a garden this year although we are getting a late start on the indoor seedlings which are supposed to go outdoors some time in April.
